A Letter to Self

Dear Beautiful One,

Stories are ugly and beautiful when you find the silver lining. Shame has you locked in a mental prison that physically, emotionally, spiritually keeps you stagnant. What you allow to flow in you, spills out of you. Saturating your dreams, your gifts, your environment, your fears, your reality and everyone/thing you encounter. Talking about a change means nothing; actions have caused words to lose meaning over time. Actions will continue to mean nothing if you’re mentally immature. Have you ever heard of move in silence? What’s the announcements for? Validation? Don’t set your mind up for an unnecessary blow to the dome. The struggle of believing in yourself during the darkest hours are hard enough. Faking it until you make it, is not for everybody. Your moves should be customized to fit what you need and where you are. Your lane was designated for you and only you can navigate it.

STOP IT!!! Don’t look at or call them! They can’t do it for you, ONLY YOU CAN!

There is a different type of power in you when you love yourself enough to truly check yourself. Once you check yourself, you can then speak life back into yourself. Allowing fear to distract, manipulate, drain and detour you is no longer an option.

You’re so concerned about other minds that you neglect to check the narrative of your own. You judge every thought and tear yourself apart for what? Life already comes with its blows, trust it doesn’t need your assistance. Excuses are crutches that will never allow you to heal properly if you don’t face the pain for what it is. The mind and body can only heal with the resources you provide. If you’re still hurting, you’re still mistreating yourself. What they did, it happened (past tense) ...you’re just replaying it. That’s pure torture my love. Bruce Lee said, “You must be shapeless, formless, like water”. But it won’t make a difference if your water is contaminated. Who contaminated your water (mind)? You did! Don’t look like that!

Truth is, you must give access to people, things, or situations before they can affect you. You may be robbed of things, but you still have power. Power to shift the atmosphere, power to face your fears, power to heal, power to change perspectives, power to touch lives, and power to rewrite your story.

I know you won’t forget the pain, but you must change your focus. Small steps forward, do mean that you’re moving. What you pictured in your head is constantly challenged because you haven’t surrendered. Don’t take yourself too fast, timing is everything and faith is required. Forcing something prematurely will only result in complications. You owe it to yourself to truly experience the joys of life, don’t let anything take that away.

Sincerely,

Your Heart
